Since earning my master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University, in 2000 I’ve worked as a mental health clinician, specializing in trauma, anxiety, anger management, depression, family conflict, and life transitions. Among my specialties are supporting young adults transitioning into adulthood.  I have unique experience with individuals who have experienced foster/kindship care and or adoption (either as a birth parent or adoptee). From residential facilities to foster homes, I've provided tailored support and interventions to caregivers and youth, witnessing their challenges, vulnerabilities, and resilience.  Such experience has equipped me with much knowledge about attachment issues, systemic trauma, grief, and complex family dynamics.

I have knowledge and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (understanding  how environment, beliefs, automatic thoughts, and behaviors are connected), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (acceptance, mindfulness, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation skills), and trauma-focused interventions. I’ve also valued learning how to assimilate these therapies with strategies for helpful habit formation, life-balance, and self-compassion.

Among the professional values I bring to my practice are authenticity, compassion, nonjudgment, respect, collaboration, and a continuous pursuit of growth. Each experience shapes me as a clinician and advocate, and I'm honored to support individuals, offering them hope and support in navigating their challenges.
